I got the question, “How’s married life and having a baby?” a lot due to my young age. I never had a set answer because I constantly had mixed emotions about it. I was confused and thought to myself, ‘I’m missing out on a lot.’ I felt stuck and deprived, helpless really. Now that I think of it, that was so selfish of me. However, I began to reconstruct myself as I watched my beautiful son age 6 months later and have come to a common ground with my husband. The truth is, I’m not missing out on anything. These struggles that I’ve gone through and still continuing, has made me into this strong, independent mother and wife. Whenever I gaze at my son’s face, it gives me motivation to get us out of this struggle. Hard work and dedication are all it takes. 

Now, I am happy to say I’m officially a licensed vocational nurse and currently back in school to obtain my bachelor’s in nursing. I can honestly say I’m so proud of myself; Feeling on top of the world right now. After all the hardships I’ve went through this past year, I’m content where I’m at right now. My family and friends are all I need.
